Education

In the Spring of 2016, I graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Education. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Agriculture from Murray State University while continuing my career as a teacher.

Experience

My love for agriculture began at a very young age.  Having horses most of my life exposed me to a lot of animal science interests, which led me to exploring the rest of the agriculture industry.  In high school, I was very involved in FFA and other agricultural organizations (Farm Bureau, 4-H, etc.) holding various leadership positions and participating in communication, team building, and community activities.  Upon graduating from Muhlenberg County High School, I traveled to Murray State University to pursue my degree in Agricultural Education.  While attending Murray State, I worked for the Hutson School of Agriculture which allowed me to see agriculture from all perspectives.  One of my primary responsibilities was to interact with students and their families as they decided where their academic path in agriculture may lead.  Also, in my time as a college student, I held two summer internships with the Kentucky Soybean Association.  During those summers, I traveled the state of Kentucky promoting the soybean industry, hosting youth agriculture education programs, exploring emerging technology, touring farms, and conducting research in the area of plant science.

Throughout all of these experiences, I found a undeniable passion for educating others about agriculture.  I completed my student teaching in the Spring of 2016 at Christian County High School.  After completing student teaching I graduated from MSU in May of 2016.  At that time, Christian County's Agriculture Program had shown such growth that there was a need for them to hire a third teacher in their department.  I anxiously applied, and am now thrilled to be apart of that team!

I am so excited for the 2017-2018 school year!  I know that the students in the agriculture department at CCHS are going to do great things! Go Colonels!
